Advocating for Auditing
Advocacy Overview

Written by Advocacy Committee,

Advocacy’s mission is to promote the value of independent performance auditing throughout the local Government community. We provide professional resources and support that demonstrate the value of independent performance auditing to organizations within the local government community on four levels:
 Organizations without audit functions
 Organizations with new audit functions
 Organizations with established audit functions, and
 Organizations considering diminishing their audit function.

These responsibilities are coordinated to include the participation of all ALGA members in order to accomplish our mission. In addition to the committee’s nine members, we have enlisted an additional ten ALGA members to serve in an advisory capacity. This advisory group broadens committee participation and enhances outreach activities that arise throughout the year.
