The Association of Local Government Auditors has changed its name to the Association of Local Government Auditors. The association will go by the acronym ALGA (formerly N.A.L.G.A.). A task force had recommended the new name, in part because charter members in 1989 originally established the organization as the "Association of Local Government Auditors." The ALGA vote came on May 23rd during the business meeting in San Jose, Calif., with more than 90 percent in favor of the name change.
We will transition to the new name in the coming months on our documents and this website.
